We’re delighted to welcome the Czech National
Symphony Orchestra, one of the leading Czech
orchestras, with a performance of Dvoráks much loved
New World Symphony which is sure to be something very
special. In the first half the outstanding cellist Natalie
Clein will perform Shostakovich’s dramatic Cello Concerto
No. 1, commissioned by the great Russian musician
Rostropovich, and the concert begins with Smetana’s
‘From Bohemia’s Forests and Meadows’ - a delightful
musical description of the Bohemian landscape.
