Welcome to the new season of Hull City Hall Classics, a partnership
between Hull City Council, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and
the Hull Philharmonic Orchestra.
Once again there is an opportunity for our orchestral supporters to have a wide
choice of subscription options with generous discounts to ensure that you can
enjoy the best orchestral music in Hull’s prestigious City Hall.
The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra will perform 3 concerts and have also invited the
Czech National Symphony Orchestra, the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra and the Hallé
Orchestra to present programmes featuring cornerstone of the orchestral repertoire.
The Hull Philharmonic Orchestra continue their Great War retrospective with
music reflecting the year 1916 and to celebrate 2017 City of Culture they have
commissioned Sir Karl Jenkins to create a new work featuring the City Hall Organ
and the orchestra. The Classics in the City programme will be chosen by the
audience and features the world famous pianist, Peter Donohoe.
Free pre-concert talks before each performance give the audience the chance to
meet the conductor or soloist and gain a fascinating insight into the performer’s world.
