The Hull Philharmonic General Administrator

Outline role description

The Hull Philharmonic Society is facing a period of substantial change and is establishing two admin roles to provide it with robust operational and administrative support.   One will specialise in the administration requirements which are Concert specific (the Concert Administrator) and the other will specialise in those which relate to the general day to day operation of the Society as a whole (General Administrator).

The Society’s orchestral season runs from the commencement of rehearsals in early September through three scheduled concerts in Hull City Hall in late November, February and our final concert mid May.

The two administrators will work together as a team and be prepared to cover for each other across the combined range of duties.  This may include covering for the Concert Administrator during the Hull Philharmonic Orchestra’s concert weeks.

Roles and Duties (not exhaustive)

The General Administrator role is to provide comprehensive support to the Hull Philharmonic Society, covering a wide range of admin tasks which includes: - Handling/directing queries
 - Maintenance of records
 - First point of contact for the Executive Team
 - Co-ordinating projects and activities
 - Providing admin support to the Society’s Executive Committee and it’s associated officers and working groups which include maintaining a schedule of all meetings and the timely preparation/circulation of agendas/minutes, supporting reports and documents.

Hours of Work

Hours of work will fluctuate on a weekly basis, however on average ~5 hours/week.  A degree of flexibility is required due to the variation in the pattern of activities.

Remuneration

£10-£12.50/hr depending on experience

Candidate

We are looking for motivated, dynamic and experienced administrators who can work flexibly in delivering a high quality service to the Society.  The successful applicants will be problem solvers with a keen eye for detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills plus strong IT skills to support the development of new admin processes within the Society.
